You’ll manage a diverse portfolio, evaluate and quote risks, and play a key role in maintaining a profitable reinsurance business.

Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a decisive, relationship‑driven Senior Client Company Underwriter to support and grow our portfolio of Equipment Breakdown (EB) business. In this role, you will partner closely with assigned client company underwriters to deliver tailored coverage solutions for both new and renewal business.
You will underwrite a diverse book of business, evaluate risks, develop quotes, and manage client relationships to support profitable growth. This position also serves as a mentor within the team and collaborates frequently with Engineering, Claims, the Client Integration Team (CIT), and other internal partners.
- Renewal Management
- Manage a portfolio of renewal accounts and work toward defined retention and profitability goals.
- Review engineering reports, loss prevention insights, claims activity, and other relevant data early in the renewal cycle.
- Engage clients to gather updated values, pricing expectations, and underwriting details.
- Prepare quotes within binding authority and deliver them with supporting materials.
- Document underwriting decisions and process bound business through internal systems.
- New Business Underwriting
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities aligned with our growth objectives.
- Review submissions, coordinate engineering assessments, gather missing information, and conduct prequalification.
- Lead Collaborative Underwriting Review (CURe) discussions when needed.
- Provide quotes and marketing materials, follow up with clients, and manage accepted accounts through issuance.
- Market Knowledge & Client Expertise
- Participate in training related to occupancies, products, and underwriting best practices.
- Stay current on HSB-rated instructions and ensure accuracy for assigned client companies.
- Expand knowledge to increase underwriting authority and technical expertise.
- Client Engagement
- Build and strengthen relationships through virtual meetings and onsite client visits.
- Prepare for client meetings by reviewing account status, identifying issues, and planning discussion points.
- Support retention and growth by aligning underwriting strategy with joint risk appetite.
- Team Mentorship & Collaboration
- Provide guidance to peers and client companies, sharing underwriting knowledge and offering training support.
- Assist underwriters with sales call preparation and proposal development.
- Foster a positive team culture and communicate performance or development observations to leadership.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of underwriting experience preferred.
- P&C, Mechanical, or Facilities Engineering experience is a plus.
