About Great Lakes Insurance SE:
Munich RE via its Primary Insurance entity Great Lakes Insurance SE has been continuously growing its “credit business” over the last decade with significant further growth ambitions for the coming years. One key area for growth is providing credit risk transfer / regulatory capital relief solutions to financial institutions. In order to achieve Munich RE’s growth ambition in this area, we are building up a heterogenous, multi-talent team of experts with credit experience (capital market, lending, banking and/or insurance) from diverse backgrounds such as finance/MBA, CFA, mathematics/actuaries and lawyers

About the role
Are you in your penultimate or final year of your qualification and looking to gain hands-on experience in structured finance? Join our Dublin-based Structured Credit team for an exciting 3 month internship (Summer 2026) where you'll work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to real-world credit transaction business.This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about synthetic securitization transactions with exposure to a wide range of loan types; from consumer (e.g., mortgages, auto loans, credit cards) to corporate (e.g., SME, commercial real estate, receivables, and leveraged finance).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with surveillance of structured credit transactions and credit portfolio monitoring tasks.
- Support data quality analysis and portfolio data visualizations for structured credit transactions.
- Run a credit market data analysis project for the team.
- Assist in underwriting structured credit portfolio transactions, with a focus on synthetic securitizations for European banks.
- Help prepare credit memos that summarize transaction analysis and support investment decision-making.
- Learn about relevant regulations and industry trends in structured finance.

Key Skills & Experience:
- You have an interest in structured finance, credit analysis, and financial modelling.
- You’re analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior coursework or experience in banking, risk management, or investment analysis is a plus.
Desired Qualifications and Educational Background:
- You’re currently pursuing a qualification in an actuarial, quantitative finance, mathematics, or a related field.
