Risk & Compliance Manager
We are looking for a Risk & Compliance Manager to be based in our Dublin Office with a hybrid working module of 2-3 days per week.
As a member of the Risk & Compliance Department, you will assist in making appropriate arrangements for Risk & Compliance activities throughout the organisation to meet Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) and other applicable regulatory standards.
Working closely with the Head of Risk & Compliance (Europe) you will ensure compliance with Munich Re Group business policies and guidelines and to ensure that an effective risk management system is in place, with due regard to both Financial and Non-Financial risks and the MRRSI Risk Framework.
Responsibilities
- Implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive risk management and governance framework including but not limited to:
- Continuous assessment of key and emerging Financial and Non-Financial Risks.
- Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and implement mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to anticipate potential threats.
- Oversight of the risk appetite framework
- Ensuring proportionate and incremental enhancements with increased maturity and scale of the business
- Ensure on-going compliance with all applicable European and international laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and controls to meet all regulatory requirements including documenting annual regulatory required assessments.
- Implement, and monitor internal controls to mitigate exposure to regulatory risk, this will include notifying, reporting, and evaluating impact on partners, ensuring appropriate business owners, governance reporting.
- Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to deliver annual audit obligations, implementing audit recommendations, tracking responses, and escalating potential delays to ensure timely resolution of findings.
- Prepare presentations and reports on risk and compliance topics for the Executive Committee and the Board, also attend Committee meetings/forums as and when requested.
- Support organisational reporting to MRS-GM, GSI, regional and other reporting.
- Develop and deliver Risk & Compliance training programs to inform employees on risk management and compliance topics.

- Ability to evidence strong stakeholder management skills in a challenge and support capacity, and demonstrate flexibility as required.
- Must have a good change mindset and demonstrate ability to thrive and bring team along in a change environment.
- Demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail and a diligent approach to work.
- Must be able to work on own initiative, have strong management and organisational skills and be business orientated.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including previous evidence of preparing presentation and board reports, appropriate and relative to the recipient audience.
- Excellent influencing and negotiating skills – achieving consensus solutions while delivering challenging goals.
- Ability to develop strategic views for a department and motivate the team to achieve the goals.
- Display strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Has a detailed knowledge of the legal framework as it applies to their job and of business written.
