The Governance Specialist will be part of Munich Re’s HR Transformation & Governance Team. This role will contribute to developing and overseeing the new global HR guideline and policy framework and ensuring consistent application of agreed standards through the governance function. The Governance Specialist reports into the Global Head of HR Transformation & Governance based in Munich.

 

This role is embedded into a team of transformation and governance colleagues spread around the world, and collaborates closely with functional HR teams, HRBPs, HR Tech, business leaders and regional HR teams to ensure consistent management of the HR transformation and a global guidelines landscape.

YOUR JOB

  • Draft and manage globally harmonized guidelines and policy framework according to Munich Re’s norm landscape, ensuring policies are clear, comprehensive, and aligned with business goals.
  • Managing and implementing dispensations for necessary regional/local deviations (due to regulatory and/or legal requirements)
  • Conduct quality assurance and process reviews to maintain standards and mitigate risks
  • Lead governance-related training for HR staff on compliance and policy adherence
  • Support regulatory inquiries by providing data, documentation, and insights for external audits
  • Partner with regional HR teams to address local legal and regulatory requirements, and with functional HR teams to ensure effective documentation and maintenance of functional policies and procedures

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • 5+ years’ experience in governance, norms management, managing guidelines and policies in a global setup. Experience in HR governance and regulations is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with working group members and cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in project management and leading working groups.
  • In-depth understanding of cultural and regional nuances impacting governance efforts in multinational contexts
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus
