American Modern Insurance Group is looking for a Manager of Statutory Reporting to join our team! You will manage a dynamic team that completes and synthesizes the statutory close across the Accounting Department. You will provide support for the internal statutory financial reports for executive, board, and regulatory audiences and will be responsible for the Annual Statement generation and completion of the Risk-Based Capital reporting and monitoring. This position is hybrid in Cincinnati, Ohio and will oversee a team of 5 accountants.
You will:
- Lead a team to execute the statutory reporting and close process.
- Provide analysis and quality control of data and deliverables. Apply financial controls to ensure accurate financial close activities and business reporting
- Inspire the team to achieve transformational activities and implement enhanced data governance and dashboard reporting.
- Ensure the integrity of transactional data and reporting.
- Develop a process for consolidating and assimilating complex financial data into reports for internal and external purposes.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements; provide research and guidance on a variety of accounting and business issues; operationalize compliance with financial reporting pronouncements.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience in the insurance industry with focus of statutory reporting.
- Experience with accounting principles and practices, insurance/reinsurance market trends and information, and the analysis of financial data.
- Experience with managing and maintaining insurance accounting systems and technology.
- Experience with business and management principles involved with strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or another Business discipline.
- CPA designation required.
