Description: 

Munich Re Beijing Branch, part of Munich Re, the world's largest reinsurer, is seeking a skilled professional to join our team. You will focus on the hands-on execution of financial accounting, reporting, and closing activities, ensuring full compliance with Group policies as well as local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.

The position will be based in Beijing and report to the Manager of Financial Accounting & Reporting.

 

YOUR ROLE

 

  • Manage and ensure that quarterly and annual closing processes are completed with high accuracy and within designated timelines, with strong attention to reconciliation between business data and financial accounts, as well as strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Prepare financial statements in compliance with Group accounting policies, IFRS, China GAAP, relevant tax rules, and local regulatory requirements (content, format, and submission deadlines).
  • Perform and document plausibility analyses for quarterly financial statements, ensuring consistency, completeness, and data integrity.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of regulatory reports and internal reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits, including statutory financial statement audits, agreed-upon procedures (AUP), and regulatory inspections, by coordinating data provision and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Act as a key coordination point for Finance-related data requests, communicating effectively with Group and Regional Finance, actuarial teams, and Business Units.
  • Participate in Finance-related projects and initiatives, including process improvements and system or reporting enhancements.
  • Provide ongoing support for general accounting activities and undertake ad hoc assignments when required.

 

YOUR PROFILE 

 

  • Qualified accountant with a university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • China CPA is preferred.
  • 4–8 years of relevant experience, preferably within the insurance or reinsurance industry.
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS and China GAAP, with a strong understanding of financial and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, intercultural, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and regions.
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese, written and spoken.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and high-quality deliverables.
  • Ability to manage complexity and pressure, demonstrating resilience and a proactive mindset.
