Munich Reinsurance Company Beijing Branch, part of Munich Re, the world’s largest reinsurer, is looking for an intern with a background in risk management, insurance, economics, finance or related discipline to join our Risk Management team in China.

If you are eager to gain experience within a leading global reinsurance group, thrive in an international setting, consider joining our team as a 6-month intern. While most of the work is expected to be full-time and onsite, we offer some flexibility to accommodate your academic commitments. 

 

We are looking for an Intern that can commit from January 2026 onwards for a 6-month or longer period, with the flexibility to work at least 3 to 4 days per week. 

 

 

 

Your Role

 

Risk Analysis and Reporting

  • Assist Head of Risk in risk data collation and compilation.
  • Support optimization of risk models.
  • Help prepare internal and external risk reports.

 

External Environment and Market Analysis

  • Assist to monitor macroeconomic trends, monetary policy, and interest rate developments.
  • Collect and maintain key Finance and Insurance related laws and regulations.
  • Gather and update peers’ solvency and operating figures for benchmarking.
  • Participate in ad-hoc research projects on topics such as Solvency II and risk-related areas.

 

Project Management

  • Provide general support with documentation and other administrative tasks as needed for project-based risk initiatives, such as C-ROSS SARMRA, operational risk related topics.

 

 

 

Your Profile

 

  • Currently enrolled in master's program (or in the final stage of a bachelor’s degree), with outstanding academic performance.
  • Academic background in insurance, actuarial science, statistics, economics, Finance or insurance-related studies.
  • Demonstrated interest in the (re-)insurance industry.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and completeness.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (can perform complex functions) and PowerPoint.
