American Modern Insurance Group is recruiting for a Claims Compliance Analyst to join our team! As a Claims Compliance Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring our Claims Department stays up-to-date with changing regulations and industry best practices. You will serve as a key liaison with state Departments of Insurance (DOI) and drive the development of compliance monitoring and testing programs to validate our adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business unit leadership to reinforce accountability for compliance and risk mitigation
- Serve as the primary compliance and MARSOX contact for Integrated Risk Management (IRM) and Internal Audit
- Perform control testing and manage the department's risk and control framework in partnership with control owners
- Monitor external and internal sources for regulatory changes and data requests from DOI, analyzing requirements and applying them to our processes
- Provide expertise on state adjuster licensing and continuing education (CE) requirements
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with state license and CE requirements
- Respond to data calls, surveys, and market conduct requests from DOI
- Maintain the Compliance Library, track activity, and analyze impact on claim activities
- Plan and execute compliance audits to ensure accountability for risk-mitigating controls and regulations
- Collaborate with managers to develop process improvements, documentation, and recommend IT enhancements
- Serve as a liaison with other AMIG divisions, including Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Quality, Product, State Regulation, Internal Audit, and Integrated Risk Management
- Act as a point of contact with state agency representatives and auditors on inquiries and sensitive matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- At least three years of insurance adjuster experience
- Industry certification(s) focusing on regulatory/legal/risk management issues are preferred, along with AIC, SCLA, CPCU, etc.
- Familiarity with insurance principles, including policy terms, conditions, and exclusions
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with ability to learn company-specific software and systems
