We are seeking an Accounting Process Improvement Manager to support the Accounting organization by identifying opportunities for process improvement and driving meaningful change. This is a highly visible role that partners with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of financial accounting and reporting processes.
This role plays a key part in supporting statutory and IFRS accounting activities, strengthening controls and documentation, researching technical accounting matters, and representing Accounting on cross‑functional initiatives aligned to business strategy.
What You Will Do
- Lead accounting process improvement initiatives focused on increasing quality, efficiency, and consistency across financial accounting and reporting activities
- Assess end‑to‑end accounting and controllership processes and identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, and control enhancement
- Serve in a project management capacity for accounting‑related initiatives, acting as a project lead, workstream lead, or accounting representative
- Perform and document technical accounting research for new or non‑routine transactions, including statutory and IFRS treatment
- Support adoption of new accounting guidance through documentation, training materials, and stakeholder communication
- Provide day‑to‑day support related to statutory reporting, IFRS, accounting operations, regulatory and compliance matters
- Ensure accounting policies and procedures are documented, current, and aligned with compliance and control standards
- Partner with financial compliance teams on risk assessments, internal controls, and audit‑related matters
- Act as a liaison between Accounting and key internal and external stakeholders, including audit, tax, investments, and outsourced partners
- Support senior leadership with analysis, research, and special projects as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- CPA certification
- Experience in accounting, internal audit, or financial statement audit
- Insurance industry accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of statutory and IFRS accounting principles
- Demonstrated experience with accounting process improvement, controls, and documentation
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change in a complex environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Public accounting or large corporate accounting/internal audit experience
- Industry certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or AIAF
- Lean or process improvement certifications (e.g., Six Sigma)
- Advanced understanding of data analytics applied to accounting and financial reporting
